Yes there have to be some, so before attending
read on!
Welcome to Imp 40. We hope that you all have a thoroughly enjoyable
weekend.
Alas, due to the nature of our venue which has houses neighbouring the
camp site and a nearby hospital, there are some rules that we need to be
aware of. We hope that these do not serve to inconvenience you unnecessarily.
As with every event there have to be some guidelines in place
to make the event a happy, enjoyable and safe one. Please take the
time to read and digest the following points.
The local Police are also aware of the event so please help us to make a
good IMPression.
The speed limit on site is max. 10mph (16km/h);
The speed limit on Thornton Common Lane is 30mph (48km/h);
The venue this year is quite a peaceful one, and although there will be
the usuall split of noisy camping, and quiet camping the organisers request
that people use their common sense in the small hours as the site is
large and flat and sound will inevitably travel! Quiet times are
00:00hrs to 08:00hrs and 00:00hrs to 10:00hrs on Sunday.
The Rugby Club Committee has asked us not to drive on the fenced
off playing pitches. Re-instatement charges for this are potentially
huge so please adhere to this requirement;
Bin bags will be provided to you for litter. If you need any more, please
ask at the Rally HQ. Please help to clear up afterwards (this will be a
huge help to the organisers);
The club house, including the amenities set up for us must be
kept in the same condition we find them, any problems please report
this immediately to the organisers. Again the Imp club will be held
responsible for any damage;
To comply with local fire regulations, the camping areas are marked and
tents and caravans should be separated by a safe distance. (Main aisles
should be 5m wide to allow access to Fire Engines in the event of an
emergency). Please ask at Rally HQ if you are unsure where to camp;
BBQs should be elevated from the ground so as not to damage the grass.
Bricks should be available from rally HQ;
BBQs should be attended by a responsible adult at all times. Obviously, no
open fires are allowed on safety and potential damage grounds, but contained
fires using charcoal for cooking are OK if carefully managed;
There are some areas that are out of bounds to us: these include the Nature
Reserve, the main pitch in front of the club house and the adjoining
farmer's fields. Access to the Nature Reserve, actually the remains of
Thornton Common which once covered the whole site, is possible via the
style from the road;
Dogs are not allowed on the playing pitches, in the nature reserve or in
the farmer's fields, because you cannot follow them to clean up! A
dog-walking area is provided;
There is also a brook (Clatter Brook) on the northern edge of the
site, which will be identified with warning signs over the weekend so please
ensure that no little ones (or bigger ones under the influence) are
allowed to roam nearby, unattended!
Off site, usual laws of the land apply!
We hope you have a safe weekend and that you enjoy all of the
entertainment that's on offer.
