You will be able to arrive and pitch tents from morning onwards.
Bar will be open in the evening and food available.
There will be a music quiz.
Friday 1st August
A choice of two excursions is available for friday:
- Meet 9:45am in the display area for a PROMPT departure at 10am
The first is a
drive through picturesque North Wales with a trip on the railway
between Carrog and Llangollen and visit to the Llangollen Motor
Museum. The way back will provide an opportunity for a more
interesting drive or chance to visit several areas of interest for
those wishing to take a bit more time out.
Route instructions will be provided.
There will be reduced-price entry to the railway and motor
museums if everyone is there on time.
- Meet 10:30am in the display area
Second excursion for friday is a similar all-day trip to Southport, a
traditional British seaside town not too far from Blackpool and
Morecambe. Knotted hankerchiefs and deckchairs a speciality. Bring
bucket and spade, feed the seagulls, eat fish and chips and much, much
more...
Tourist information will be provided about a number of other venues for
people wishing to make their own arrangements.
Bar will be open in the evening and food available.
For anyone who knows anything about Northern Soul, we have one of the
top DJs from the Wigan Casino. To find out more listen to
Jazz FM or Stuart Machonie on Radio 2. We hope also to have some Northern
Soul dancers.
Saturday 2nd August
The Big One, make sure you don't arrive (or wake up) late! We have
special trips planned to the famous cities of Chester and
Liverpool. You can do both if you make your own arrangements on other
days - information will be provided.
- Meet 10am in the display area
An organised trip on saturday will leave to the park and ride at
Chester Zoo, following which you can explore the historic Roman city
and its beautiful medieval architecture, probably the most impressive
in England. Reduced-price entry tickets are available for the zoo.
- Meet 10:45am in the display area for a PROMPT departure at 11am
There will be an organised trip in a large cavalcade
through the Mersey Tunnel to Liverpool St. George's Hall and Albert Dock.
There will be a static display
of cars enabling their owners to park for free and head off to explore
the city centre, either by open-topped tour bus or on foot. Beatles
tour, galleries, shopping and restaurants a must!
-
Alternatively from
Arrowe Park you can continue to explore the unique countryside of the
Wirral with help from the Park Ranger Service. Information will be
available for those preferring the peace and quiet, bucket and spade may
again prove useful.

Tourist information will be provided about a number of other venues for
people wishing to make their own arrangements.
Buy spares and regalia.
Again in the evening
there will be organised food and drink. Tickets will be available on
site for a good selection of inexpensive local fayre.
And to round off the day why not participate in our themed evening
to live music from a Liverpool band.
We are suggesting a fancy-dress theme of "Your Favourite Film
Character". 1960s-70s recommended. Horror not recommended.
(Who says we don't have a good time?)
Sunday 3rd August
Sunday is Imp day! Whilst spares and regalia will
have been available on site on all days, this is a chance to get up
late, enjoy breakfast (and/ or lunch) provided by our catering staff,
and enjoy the cars.
Buy spares and regalia.
Display your car and win a prize (or at least compare with others).
There will be the usual line-up of individual
models and voting for your favourite. For list of
trophies see below.
Raffle.
Imp and Car Related Auction. See auction items below.
In addition we hope many
personalities involved in Imp development and exploitation will be
present and there will be a large display of Imp-based specials.
A number of inter-area competitions will be going on during the day
and trade and autojumble stalls will be open for business.
Quiet evening with feet up (and a beer of course). Forget the BBQ
- we will have food and drink provided in the Club House so you can
concentrate on more important activities.
Monday 4th August
Breakfast will be available and we will not hurry
you to leave. On the contrary, why not stay in the area? There are
many other campsites, B&Bs and hotels nearby and there is a lot more
to see and explore. We will ensure all facilities remain in operation
until at least midday for you to take your tents down and pack up.
...during which some of us will be working like mad things to restore the
site to its previously green and pleasant appearance.
The End!
