An album of photographs in the Archive Centre from [1940s?]. The preface to this album reads as follows.

Accomplishment: From the sale of a single car in 1898 at Maidstone in
 Kent to an organisation handling some tens of thousands of cars
 annually with representatives in almost every country of the world -
 such is the achievement of Rootes Ltd, Devonshire House, London.

Their efforts today are concentrated on selling the products of
 Humber, Hillman and Commer - three Associated Companies - whose
 activities are wholly centred on building British Cars and Commercial
 Vehicles able to compete in every way throughout the world.
